Thanks for an excellent audition! I was able to cast everyone – and put everyone in a speaking role! However, I was a bit frustrated (as usual) by not having enough lines to go around. Many of you had outstanding auditions that made me wish I had many more lines for you than the script had available. So, I did a few things. First, you will notice that several people are sharing roles. These pairs will switch off their two roles for different performances. So, for example, Wyatt will play TYLER at one performance while Ryan plays BRENDAN. At the next performance they will switch the roles. We’ll discuss this in more detail during rehearsal. It will also help us with those actors who have swimming and robotics conflicts during the next month or so.
The other thing I am doing is making very active use of an ENSEMBLE. The people in the ensemble will play many parts in addition to their speaking roles. I will also ask this group to help me create short scenes that will help cover the set changes. This idea will solve a scene change problem for me while also giving these talented performers more active stage time.
No matter what, I am thrilled to have you in the cast. We are going to have a lot of fun and prepare an outstanding show!
First rehearsal is Tuesday, November 28 (TOMORROW from when I posted the list), 3:45-5:30 PM. I know swimming has a conflict – we’ll handle the first read-through without you.
